Stumbling for Tumbling

Is it time to kick Tumblr to the curb?
I surveyed the community.
We all stumble from time to time, but Tumblr’s recent behavior has been unexcusable. For those out of the loop, Tumblr took a sick day and stopped serving it’s millions of users for about 30+ hours. Something to do with database clusters. (Please don’t ask me what a database cluster is)
I’ve defended Tumblr from day one, but I’ve got a business to run. I know I can count on Wordpress. Time for a change maybe?
Yesterday I conducted an impromptu survey. I used search.twitter to find a pool of willing participants (thanks BTW) and proposed a multiple choice question to about 75 fairly random Twitter users who had Tweeted the word Tumblr:
A. I’ll use Tumblr less because of the outage.
B. Still love it.
C. Don’t use it.

12% said they don’t use Tumblr
88% said they still love Tumblr
0% said they’ll use Tumblr less
What does this very unscientific study tell us?
Tumblr users are loyal and they love this network. It’s fascinating that we’re willing to put up with a 30 hour Tumblr outage. What if your cell phone dropped coverage for 30 hours? What if Facebook went down for 30 hours?
We tolerate crazy things when we’re in love.
